As the '07 driving season gets under way this Summer, I'm going to go out on a limb and say many folks will be in withdrawal. Over at theoildrum.com an analyst has been putting together convincing reports that Saudi Arabia's oil production has peaked. Ghawar -the worlds largest oil field is on the decline and any new field they bring onto the grid

Thanks to the idiocy of humanity, things are going to get much worse before they get better--for society, for people, and for life on earth in general. Most humans are just too conservative, too unchanging, to let go of the destructive and unsustainable ways.

Honestly, though, it's not society or the people in it I'm worried about. Those energy-junkies have it coming. I worry instead about the people and animals who didn't cause the problem to begin with. I find myself wondering, how does one stop THEM from being engulfed in the shitstorm that resource depletion is sure to bring on? No easy answers, there.
