Mar 28, 2011 19:45

“SP: The Motion Picture The Final Episode” managed to stay in first place and many other movies were able to secure their place in the box office as well. Furthermore, there were no new entries in the top 10 this week.

After 16 days since it opened, the “SP” movie has now broken through 100,000 viewers which equals to a box office revenue of over 18 million USD. “Doraemon” is securely fashioned in second place and with an advantage of one week compared to “SP”, the anime already managed to attract over 120,000 people. After the tragedy that stuck in Japan earlier this month more theaters started to open their doors again, thus the movie actually saw a slight increase of moviegoers compared to last week.

The Disney movie “Tangled” improved it’s position by one place and even had 17% more people watching it this week compared to last. Other movies that were able to be attract more people compared to last week were “The King’s Speech” which came in ninth place and “Macross Frontier” which came in tenth place. Especially for the latter it’s a huge success to be in the top10, since it’s only screening on 37 theaters.

“The Fighter” starring Mark Wahlberg only managed to fight itself up to 12th place, even with the two Oscars for Christian Bale and Melissa Leo.
