[Shiranui is investigating the journal curiously, since her surroundings are now rather dull, and so your first contact comes from the massive, inky pawprint she put in there for fun.

It is then followed by a flurry of pawprints as she just gets silly.  Though the play is short-lived, since her poncle friend is gone...

[Jeez, the people just keep coming!

And this one is...well, there are a lot of pawprints. Oh dear.]

You can write with your tail, you know.

Um...if you even know how to write?

[There's a bit of a pause, before elegantly painted kanji begins to reply.]

I was unaware that this was for communication.

I think that's its primary purpose. If you flip back, you'll probably see a lot of different posts from different people. At least, my journal's full of them.

[Another pause, before beautifully painted kanji touches the page]

It was granted upon arrival, I believe.

....Ah, so you can communicate. That will make things easier for everyone. I, too, found one of these objects in my possession. I am Oki of the Oina tribe. Who are you?

[Shiranui wags her tail at the page, trailing more pawprints on the page, pressing her paws to make the prints larger.]

[What fun! Amaterasu splashes more ink, then presses her nose to the page and snubs it around, making smears to go with her own prints.

Then, with her tail, she doodles a....heart? and a peach! and a poncle too!]

My, what silliness!

Did anyone allow their pet to get all in their inks, now? Seems to be quite a mess, I warn!

[not apparently in the worst of humor, though. Have a wobbly and unskilled little doodle of a face going D8]

[After a moment, there's a reply in beautifully painted kanji.]

I hadn't known this was for communication.

[And a playful pawprint following it.]

[...he blinks, gently, at the journal before his script appears slowly, with an elegant slant to it that could be more cautious than before.]

Nor did any of us, dear painter~

...can it be... you, that makes those marks as a paw might...?
