I don't pretend to have a great insight into eastern spiritualism. I read The Tao of Pooh and had a Non-Western Religions class in college (yes, me, the atheist, chose to take a Non-Western Religions class... And if anyone asks your for a Statement of Faith, give 'em Kevin Costner's speech from Bull Durham. That'll shake 'em up. Of course, you won't get the job...

I forgot to mention that if you liked Tao of Pooh and like reading that sort of thing, you might like Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind by Shunryu Suzuki. I had to read it for a class (Zen and the Japanese Tea Ceremony--an absolutely fantastic elective class) and really enjoyed it.
