Hurray for Spring

Mar 12, 2007 11:55

We've finally got some spring-like weather: cloudy but warm, with temperatures in the mid- to high-50s all weekend, which enabled us to get outside and do some long-anticipated yard cleanup.  Plus, Ben's always happier when he can run around outside.  You can only make so many laps around the house before you start seeing the same things over and ( Read more... )

Hooray, Ben!

We're getting some signs of spring here, too, although I don't know if it actually broke 50 today. Still, the long, cold winter (which wasn't that long or cold this year) is showing signs of drawing to a close.

Yay, Ben!!

On a curious note, how's the toddler bed going? We're holding off and keeping ours carefully contained for another few months.. I hope. ;)

Ben's an odd child when it comes to change. He doesn't care one bit, just sort of shrugs and moves on. Ever since he went off the bottle (cold turkey, I should note) and started sleeping through the night, he's never had a problem getting in bed and going to sleep. So when we moved to the toddler bed, it was like he'd been sleeping in it his whole life.

He sleeps backward in it (head at the foot end), so the "rails" at the head don't make a bit of difference, but it's been over a week now and he hasn't fallen out or tried to get out. Even when he wakes up, he lays in bed and talks to himself until we come up to get him. So it's been terrific, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that our experience is not at all typical. :)

That's awesome. Kira's the other way. She likes her routine. She likes it so much she tells US when we get it wrong... (No.. brush teeth! No.. jammys on!) She was crawling out of the crib over six months ago and we started always dressing her in her sleeper-sack, which acts as a hobble so she can't hook her ankle over the side and heave out. Now she demands it (and I dread her growing out of them).

I'm putting off the toddler bed as long as possible :P

We were always floored Ben never tried to climb out of the crib, considering how much he loves to climb on *everything else*.

And hey, isn't the Bossy Stage fun? :P
