Day 3 after Charley. It's quite depressing around here. Trying to keep my chin up, but my mom keeps calling with depressing news. Still can't get her to stay with us, she still has no electricity and she says her nerves are on edge. She went to work today, and I convinced her to come to dinner tonight. thanks for being concerned. I'm just outside raking up limbs and leaves. Going to fix dinner tonight for whoever will come over. Gotta keep busy!

after the ice storm we had no heat or electricity for 14 days. i gave up on the phone and got our cell. we just commuted from my parents house.nothing like being preggers in the aftermath of a storm.

y'all will recover. if you're lucky it will increase the sense of community in your neighborhoods. it did in ours.

thanks for the reply! I can't imagine being pregnant in the middle of that mess. We were just discussing which is worse an ice storm or a hurricane. At least after a hurricane you can go outside in an ice or snow storm, you can be trapped in your house. In the middle of the winter, it's awful (and deadly) being without heat. But boy, what I wouldn't give for a nice breeze though! It is H-O-T outside! Okay back to work I go.
