We all want our beloved DS to be scanlated faster, right? Meet the team then!

Oh wait, do we have a name yet, versine? XD

versine is coordinator and cleaner for this project, our generous scanner is lufjad, translators are inga_b and ah_chan, rusalkaz is your friendly bitchy editor ( Read more... )

If it's large SFX you're talking about then NO, imho it messes up the artwork. We'll stick with translation placed next to SFX.
Small SFXs should be removed as cleanly as possible.

Good work! :D If it's up to me you're hired prepare to be worked to death! XD Actually, we're pretty relaxed and friendly with no deadlines ^_~

A few words of advice though: try not to overlevel the blacks (see my own sloppy attempt at cleaning the same page for reference). Rather level the whites first, clean the page and level the blacks afterwards. Some mistakes usually come out after levelling the blacks, but you'll lose a lot of details if you level the blacks at the very beginning. Also - do not try to achieve smooth blacks by levelling the whole page as it kills the artwork.
I look forward to working with you ^_~

hi there :XD
that's great to have an editor, the more bitchy, the better so there is an authority to make a decision :OO__OO

how about this:
1. I can send you all I have for vol.3 (till the end) and you have a carte-blanch to do ANYTHING you want with the translation - edit, chop, re-word. I will not complain about a single change. I would really prefer if you do all the changes according to your beliefs/preferences, otherwise we might run into a neverending linguistic debate which could be interesting in itself but horribly counterproductive.
I've already done what I could to my best understanding, so feel free to use my text as a rough draft and change it anyhow you want [no need for my consent].
Let me know which format you'd prefer. MS Word? txt? and where to send it to?

2. having said that of course, I will answer any questions as long as you make the final decision on wording.

3. any deadlines?

4. anything else?

5. thanks for organizing all that mess and do not hesitate to nag on me for slacking off or any help.

Ahaha We're barely starting so it's natural for things to be a little chaotic ^_~

2. I take it you're making final version of translation, right? MS Word & txt are both fine with me, my e-mail is rusalkaz [at] yahoo.com

If we are in a PINCH for cleaners/editors, I can probably pitch in, but would prefer to dedicate my time to translating.
We're not in that bad of a pinch to start bothering our precious translators~

Can also QC if there is a need.
Much appreciated! I really hope we'll find a dedicated QCer though.

Good luck and gambatte kudasai ^_~ *hugs*

W-wow.... seriously, you guys are just -- amazing. ♥

As for your questions: (a) we should do another open-question poll, aha and (b) I'd rather prefer the tankoubon scans? Since they usually have a lot more detail than the magazine version. XD;

I'm all for tankoubon scans because they're far better quality-wise *_*
And hey! We got another cleaner to help you already! XD Congrats!

She had scanned complete v.5 tankoubon (and imho it's scanlation-ready, just gotta remove the text from speech bubbles and voila!). ^^ If you refer to my earlier post of extras in this community, it was my own scan.

Heya,

A friend just emailed me about you guys wanting to scanslate Demian Syndrome. This is Kalendel from Storm in Heaven. Honestly, if you guys are going to do it, you can have it =D We have one active staffer on it (an editor), who might be willing to transfer to help you guys (she's really good). We also have trans through v4 if you want them. Whoever's in charge, please email me at kalendel@gmail.com instead of replying here. We can work things out (like I can send a mailing to the DS fans at SiH to go here, etc...)

Various things have made this project a horror for me, and I have no motivation to work on it, which is the reason releases at SiH have been slow. If you're going to pick it up, I'll give you any help I can so you can put out the best quality project. Really, it'll be one big thing off my back ^^
