My first semester: I spent 300+ on books and 400+ on supplies(200 of which was for computer related peripherals). That's a grand total of 700$ for a bunch of crap. At least I'll use the art stuff indefinitely. As for the books...Imma try to get as much money back off of them as possible. I haven't opened the plastic covering my english book yet in hopes that I won't need it and I can sell it to someone as brand new. Who wants to pay for education, anyhow...?
All in all my books costed around like 400 I think...but I only paid for the one. My dad bought the rest...his way of making up for missing out on a large part of my childhood. But seriously, this textbook crap is ridiculous! These professors just all need to get together and decide which book they like and then use that ONE...not five different books for five different professors for the same freaking class! And then they could just issue books...and make buying the books optional!
At least we can sell them back though...unless you end up with a professor that decides not to use that book again. Then you are stuck with a 90+ dollar book that is good for nothing but kindling in a camp fire!
