命 - Inochi (Life)

Well, I just got back from my reserve duty weekend. My unit sent us back to Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, a place I worked at late last year. This time instead of the ER I got placed in the Onocology ward (ward for cancer patients). All I have to say is, I would not want to work in a place like that. I really agree with what you said about being able to dismiss things that are not important. I think by experiencing what I have in the last 2 years has helped me to do that. Looking back at it now there's quite a bit I was able to just put aside which helped a lot as far as not having extra stress in my life.

On a better note, watching some of the patients I was helping with try their hardest to keep lving was pretty amazing. Kinda inspirational.

What you say is pretty much like my philosphy. I appreciate my own health and bitch about my life a little less. Sometimes when you have a shorter time to live, the quality of how you live is really put into focus.
