still looking for a job. Have applied to several, heard back noes from the design job and a bachelor party dancing job (apparently I have the wrong look, but probably all to the good on the last one, although if one of those jobs was exactly what it claimed to be (no nudity and no touching) then I might actually enjoy it. what?! how come everyone laughs at that? come on, haven't you guys seen me doing the sexy number on stage before? I suppose the most you have ever seen is summertime. Let me just say three dances that have happened since then: Ode to Legs (to hanky panky by Madonna), SheBangs (the english version of the Ricky Martin song), and Body Language (to the same song by Queen). All three were very flirty, sexy what have you, and I loved doing them all, and further more, I designed my costume for SheBangs and it was, shall we say, somewhat revealing. Oh, and then I choreographed to Raise the Roof from the Broadway version of Wild Party and it also included skimpy clothing, though less shaking it up. I think I'd rechoreograph if the oppurtunity ever presents itself. Bottom line, I love shaking it up on stage in skimpy clothing. Good thing I like doing other things on stage, or I'd really have to hate myself.

Yeah, this is just what a mother wants to read.
No, it's true, you're pretty good at enjoying the sexy dance and I've enjoyed watching the skill and enjoyment. I do wonder, though, how that changes when you're doing it not for sheer fun and "art," but rather for money--when you really are selling a look at your body. I think it may be the difference between prostitution and making love. (Mind you, I don't have a moral objection to prostitution, but commodification of relationships in general is...interesting. (That would be Polanyi talking, just for the record...))

well, I don't really think I'd care, as far as I'm concerned dancing is dancing is dancing, and like I say in the post, if any of those jobs were exactly what they claimed in terms of no nudity and no touching, then I probably really would enjoy it. I might even be ok with "choreographed" touching, such as is shown in Moulin Rouge, although I doubt it, that's a little to personal. But I'd rather get paid for a look than not, and I get plenty of the unpaid looks the rest of the time when I'm not inviting it.
