Same here. And the way she died was so horrible. I'm so glad she's not suffering anymore.

Yeah I commend her for being brave enough to basically put herself out of her own misery.

I loved that film. I thought it would have been so easy to be cartoonish, pitying, or unsympathetic to her, and that film was so complicated and analytical and funny and excellent. I watch it every time it comes on the gay channel.

I heard about her death this morning. It seemed like she had been in a lot of pain for a long time, so I hope she was ready. It was still sad.

She was definitely ready( I mean as ready as any of us can ever be) as she was the one who made the decision to end her treatment. Apparently she got her last words out last Thursday on Larry King. She went out like a true rockstar diva. I have nothing but respect.

I have her book I will survive (and you will too). It was really awesome. It was painful to hear her talk about feminism so negatively because I see her as such a symbol of strength. i aspire to her heroism and class (well, certain parts of it at least).

Sometimes the best feminists don't even realize they are.
