that's kinda what i was thinking while i watched the trailer to that 'champ-something-or-other'. i couldn't figure out the "twist" in the plot, and pinching the tyrone voice from chapelle is kinda weak imo.

i don't have tv, and rarely read entertainment news, so i'm usually surprised by what movies are being released!

Oh come on, you know you were waiting for a sequel to "The Caveman's Valentine". That's what this movie is right?

In Mr. Jackson's defense he's really branching out. His turn towards the magical negro genre is far different than his crazed angry black man character that has been his bread and butter for so many years.

A friend of mine did a comic that had a pretty dead on send up of the various roles given black actors in the lovely land known as Hollywood. That section is on his blog, but it doesn't seem to be working. At least it isn't working for me. Perhaps you will have better luck with it. It's at www.lancetooks.com.
