Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
She is short. Shortshortshort. She's not as chubby or fat as everyone makes fun of her for-- she's a bit soft, but years of swimming, boating, and Naval Training made her toned. Her limbs are thin, and she probably looks a lot more breakable then she is.
2. How old is she? 511, technically. She's one of the oldest on the east coast. She looks about 19 or 20 though.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She walks like she owns the entire world, and you should know this so why don't you. When she's alone though, she tends to slouch a bit, head lowered, hands stuffed in her pockets.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Well... an almost crippling lack of strength. Fft. When she's on the water, Mary's a BEAST. She's Aquawoman, man. On land, she's pretty useless in hand-to-hand combat. She couldn't punch her way out of a paper bag.
Otherwise, she's pretty healthy and happy.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
She's not clumsy, but she's a bit halting when she moves, like she's always hesitating about her steps and is prone to ranodmly changing directions. Or doing "oh no wait I have to go this way- *pivot*- No wait, shit, it was the toher way *pivot*" awkward movements.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? She'd rather be 'beautiful' but she's mostly described as 'cute'. She doesn't see it-- she makes ugly faces all the time, but usually likes her appearance.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? She's usually super-tan from spending most of her days outside, but being at HQ so long has made her pale.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. long-ish. Blonde. She washes her hair frequently, because if she doesn't it can get super oily and nasty. It's pretty soft to touch once she's washed it though-- usually it's tied back in a sort of bun.
9. What color are her eyes? Green-blue.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? A tattoo on her hip, right below the waistband of her pants/skirts. It's of a small compass-- kinda like this.
11. What are her chief tension centers? Her neck, most def. Her hands too, oddly enough. They have a tendency to cramp.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? Extremely varied. She's a bit of a hoarder, so she's kept all of her clothes through the years. She mostly wears short-shorts, tank tops and flip flops.
When it gets cold, it's sweatpants and fuzzy boots, and she's stealing someone's sweaters (probably West Virignia's).
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? She's uncomfortable if she dresses too flashy in a place where she's either over-dressed, or she's forced in it.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? She works on a farm mostly-- it's the one constant job she's always had. She dresses in ratty old clothes for it, of course, but when it comes to time of military action, Mary'll be all business.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Panties. Thongs if she's feeling daring.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Like the blonde girl. Yep.
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? She talks fast when she excited, sometimes stumbling over words or making up whole new words in an effort to express herself. Sometimes she'll forget the simplest words and has a tendency to verbally typo.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? She has a neutral accent-- she literally just...speaks. She can imitate a good British accent, and sometimes will get very Southern. When she get angry, she spins off into the 'Balmore' accent.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? English. That's it. She knows how to say 'yes' 'no' and 'hello' in random languages, and knows enough German to get out of Germany is she was ever dropped in it.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? If she gets angry, she'll slip into the Baltimore accent.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? She doesn't think about what she says.
Ever. Well, most of the time.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? As stated a million times, she stumbles over her words and the Baltimore accent makes it almost impossible to understand at times.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? She's pretty street-smart. She knows all the tricks of fighting dirty (though it doesn't help her much) and how to move around on the streets to lower your chances of getting mugged or killed.
She's also okay when it comes to book smarts. She reads fantasy books mostly.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? She thinks on her foot. Unless held back and forced to think things through, she'll jump the gun pretty quickly.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Impulsive. Sososo impuslive. And most of the time, completely illogical. "IT WAS ALIENS! OR BIGFOOT! IT WAS THE GOD DAMN SEA MONSTER!"
4. What kind of education has the character had? She's gone up through college. She graduated college with a degree in technology, but it's kind of hard to believe.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Anything with boating or guns, farming and crabbing.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Mood swings out the wazoo. For the most part she's loud and often angry. Because she believes if she shouts loud enough, people will listen to her more.
But on the flipside, she can go to being a sweet cuddlewhore very easily-- especially if Cameron's around-- or she really wants something from you.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? On the inside she's a bit of a nervous wreck, but she always opens her mouth and blasts away, so she appears relaxed and eager to meet people.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? Act.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Fight. She will lash out with everything she's got.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? She laughs at just about anything-- it really doesn't take much to make her laugh. Pranks might tick her off if they're pulled on her, and puns might be lost on her.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? Uhhh... yeah, probably. But I won't go into detail. Let's just says she's very self-hating and crazy.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? When Lord Baltimore declared Maryland a failure and passed control over to his son. It devastated Mary and kind of crippled her self-esteem.
Civil War- Antietam definitely, especially America's forcing Maryland to join the Union, despite wanting to secede.
When Lincoln was assassinated by Booth, a Maryland-born actor, she felt personally responsible.
14. What does she fear? Being left alone
Being forgotten.

15. What are her hopes or aspirations? Never gave it much thought, but she wants to be a household name. She wants everyone to know who and where she is, and never be forgotten.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? She sometimes purposefully puts herself in risky situations, just to make sure people'll pay attention to her.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. She's "Daddy's Little Girl" basically. She absolutely adores America-- he can do almost no wrong in her eyes.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? She doesn't have any siblings-- Penn's the closest she has, and their relationship is... complicated.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? Pass.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? She considers most of the East Coast something like a family, and she gets along..okay with them. Most of them seem to think she's obnoxious and weird though.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? ...I just realized she doesn't have a best friend, that I can think of. :c
6. Does she have other close friends? ...:c not really. That I can think of, anyhow. Unless you count West Virginia.
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? Well, if she fixed that brain-to-mouth filter, she'd probably have more close friends. But she doesn't generally get along with people.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? Family, always.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? Divorced once, still technically married to Delaware.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? West Virginia~ <3
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? Her first crush was either America or Louisiana. Her current crush/boyfriend is West Virginia.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? Someone how can either tame her, or at least put up with her long enough to see past her loud, bitchy front.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? Too many kids. Way too many kids.
But no grandkids yet, thankfully. She gets along well with her kids though-- she's more of a friend to them then a mom at times.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? ....Everyone else?
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? Probably a 0 or 1.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? She likes it-- it's fun, and she enjoys it, but she doesn't let it rule her.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits? You'd have to find on your own~
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type? Idek what her Chinese zodiac is, but her Western one (going by her Union admittance date) is Taurus--a "feminine", negative (introvert) Earth sign. It's not at all like her though.
She more of an Aries-- The Aries personality is always a force to be reckoned with. These are curious and energetic individuals, always delving into new areas, but often quickly becoming bored and moving on, leaving unfinished projects in their wake.
Arians are forthcoming and direct. They don't generally have hidden agendas or ulterior motives. If they find an area in which they are interested for a long period, they can become quite accomplished, well-known, and wealthy.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life? More spiritual. After all the internal strife with Religion that she faced in her early years, she's grown far away from it. She still supports the churches and things, and she believes in God and all that, but she doesn't go as far as attenidng church or praying or anything.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it? Not really? If she has one, it chnges on a whim to fit her needs. She believes in being a Hero to people, though, and tries to follow a sort of 'hero code'.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent? Tolerant. It's more that she just doesn't care, unless you're trying to push your lifestyle on her.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them? lol. If you're Russian, don't let her know it. She will forever label you a 'dirty commie' and nothing you say or do will change her mind.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt? Riiiich. But, surprisingly, she doesn't flaunt it. Much.
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her? Changed-- she used to be pretty low on the social scale, but through hard-work and the changing times, she's grown to be upper-middle class.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others? She has three houses throughout her territory-- a large house on the water that's mostly for show and guests; to show off her wealth if she needs to.
Another is an an apartment in Baltimore for when she's visiting th city, and the last one is a farm house and farm land where she spends most of her time.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on? She's surprisingly tight-fisted with her money. She doesn't spend money on big things-- though she'll frequently impulse-buy when it comes to games or CDs-- and the only time she spends a lot of money on anyone is when it's their birthday or Christmas. Or if she really really likes you-- then she'll probably dote on you.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else? When not working or training incoming Navy Officials, she's farming or crabbing. Yep~
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time? She likes sewing and knitting, surprisingly. Boating, fishing, and guns are her interests/hobbies.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods? She loves eating. She will eat anything, just about. She loves to drink too, and there's really no foods she will avoid. Except anything Louisiana makes.
