scones CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: England // Axis Powers Hetalia
In-Game Name: Arthur Kirkland
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Position & Ship: Amestris; Cook or Passenger
Appearance: Standing at about 175 cm (approximately 5'9"), Arthur is slightly shorter than others for his age. He may not have a masculine build, but Arthur isn't lanky either. Arthur's short and unkempt hair is a light golden blonde that happens to look a lot tamer than his hair has been known to look like in the past. One of Arthur's most notable features is the fact that he has relatively thick eyebrows. They are often a large target for jokes. After hearing the same taunts regarding them over and over for many years, they get pretty tiresome. Though, he does have a sense of pride about those bushy brows of his: that is why he has not plucked and trimmed them down to a suitable size society would deem normal. For the most part, Arthur looks like an angry man due to the way his brows are angled on his face. Under those brows of his are two bright green eyes that contrast his dark coloured brows. If they happened to be any other colour, they wouldn't be as noticeable.
Arthur's everyday attire always includes a vest of some sort. When out in public he can usually be seen wearing a double breasted vest that ranges between dark or neutral colours depending on his wardrobe of the day. His vests tend to differ while he is at home. His sweater vests that he wears in a private setting are a lot more lax looking than the ones he wears in a public and are more often than not hand made by Arthur himself. Arthur is often fond of the colour green and one will most likely see Arthur wearing a variety of green sweaters. Like some sort of neat freak, all of Arthur's everyday shirts are all neat and freshly pressed white button down shirts. He does own a couple black dress shirts, but those are only worn on rare occasions. Not necessarily for any events in particular, just on some days he needs a bit of a change, but normally it's just white. And finally the slacks that he wears usually match the colour of his double breasted vests or are a nice accent to his sweater vest.
Personality: Arthur is a gentleman. A respectable gentleman. He's got a lot of pride being a gentleman. Though he's not the type of person to boast about such things; he knows when to be modest. He's also proud to be a member of the Kirkland household even though he's always faced with his sibling's scorn. Arthur often views the world through a cynical eye, and when it comes to interacting with other people, Arthur will sometimes have trouble expressing himself and instead quickly jumps onto the defensive side which results in people misunderstanding what he really means.
Deep down inside Arthur is still a romanticist who avidly believes in faeries and a delinquent from his his younger years. Once he gets himself drunk (which isn't very hard) all restraints he's had will break loose and the proper gentleman will turn into a violent punk with a foul mouth. Arthur takes great pleasure when it comes to embroidery and knitting, it is one of his favourite ways to pass the time. Reading literature (and when nobody is watching, adult magazines) and cooking are other ways for him to past the time. Arthur finds that he is happiest when he cooks, and he believes his cooking is avant-garde, but when people complain about his cooking he becomes self-depreciating, because nobody understands. Nobody at all....
Abilities/Weapons: Arthur does not have any real note worthy abilities, but for starters he could probably sew and knit better than anyone's mother, and if anyone needed any help on fixing their clothing, Arthur is the man for the job. Then again he'd probably be very reluctant to do it. Nobody but Arthur considers his cooking a skill; he may not be able to cook edible food, but at least he can still cook food. Arthur does have a knack for magic and the supernatural. He may not be as strong as a full blown Mage, but Arthur know a few hexes, such as hexing people's eyebrows so that they grow thick like his. He's tried summoning, but he has never been successful. There is also the ability to see and converse with the supernatural, more specifically faeries.
How well can your character hack?: Not at all. Arthur is relatively new to the whole "logging" thing. He's technology-illiterate when it comes to hacking, therefore he'd rather not dabble in such things. Besides, people are entitled to their privacy, right? He respects that.
Weaknesses: Even though he is not weak in a pitiful way, he just isn't someone who would win in a brawl -- that is, unless he were drunk, but then his focus and accuracy are greatly affected. Arthur also has drawbacks of the non-physical variety. If someone wrongs Arthur, he will hold a grudge against them until the end of time, regardless of circumstances. Arthur also tends to be quick to temper and will never back down from a challenge, no matter how big or small; just being challenged is enough to get him fighting back. However, Arthur is also sensitive, especially when it comes to setbacks or rejection.
History: Arthur comes from a family of old money that dates far back into the past. Arthur's family and the Jones family own a pilot plane manufacturing company which has been going strong for two generations. Out of the five children, Arthur is the fourth eldest child. Arthur has three brothers and one sister, none of which he gets along with. All his siblings are very spiteful, including Arthur himself when he deals with them.
When Arthur was just about 9 years old, Mr. Jones and his wife were killed in an accident and eventually their son Alfred came to stay in the Kirkland household. Once Arthur met Alfred, the two kids had been glued to each other ever since. It became Arthur's job to protect Alfred whenever his elder siblings started to pick on Alfred. Whenever something was troubling Alfred, he would go to Arthur for reassurance and advice; just the way Arthur wanted it.
Eventually all six of them were sent away to different schools. The two elder brothers went off to a military school, the sister to an all-girls school, Arthur and Alfred to an all-boys school and Arthur's youngest brother who wasn't born at the time will eventually go to a school close to home. During that time period that Arthur spent at school, he took on a rebellious persona. All he ever did was cause trouble for his teachers and some of the other students. While every time he was home for the holidays, he'd revert back to the well behaved son.
As Arthur and Alfred grew older together, Alfred started to find Arthur a little over-bearing and started to distance himself from his "older brother". This, Arthur did not like at all. Without so much of a thought, Arthur would begin to bully Alfred and say things like "I'm older than you, so respect me." or "I've protected you, so be grateful.". Eventually their relationship continued to spiral downwards and finally Alfred walked out on the Kirkland family. This was right before Arthur's final year at his school.
Unlike his previous years, Arthur spent his final year in quiet. That rebellious streak of his disappeared completely and he was able to finish school without flunking. When Arthur returned home, it was decided that Arthur will eventually inherit the company that his and Alfred's late father ran, even though it was his dream to become a chef. Arthur spent the next five to six years working under his father until the company went bankrupt which in turn took a devastating blow on Kirkland's financial situation. With the family in ruins, Arthur set out in search of Alfred in hopes that he might help Arthur bring the family back to it's former glory. It's all an excuse just to find Alfred, but he'll never admit that. Arthur had heard a lot of things about about the Ametris and so he's now applying for a job as a cook while he searches for Alfred.
