I just came home from running some errands down in the centre of Copenhagen.  As I bicycled past a very busy street corner I noticed three girls (about 12 years old) doing an absolute classic fan-girl "squee!!".  I looked to see what had them so thrilled, and there were two fashion-model-cute boys of about the same age, with their arms around each

I don't know.... this post me want to move there and create a spectacle just because it seems like people are craving it a little. :P

Oh, I think we do enjoy street theatre/spectacle quite a bit, its just that we won't do it ourselves. Danes love to travel abroad and generally view Denmark as being a rather boring place to live... but seem to have a built in abhorrence of being a part of the entertainment themselves. This ties back, I suspect, to something called "Jante Law" which, greatly simplified and summarized, says that thou shalt not think that you are anything special or act like you are.

I still can't get over how cute those two boys were--that is absolutely an image I will carry around in my head the rest of my life! They looked amazed, happy, and shocked; all at the same time.
