I visited Brown this weekend. The department was a good size, the town was nice, the other students were friendly, and even more importantly, they seemed passionate about what they were studying. I don't quite know where I'd fit in there, because the theory people did not seem terribly impressed with me, and in one case, it might just be because

I think Ontario'd be a good environment, from what I've heard about it, but then again, there's also it not being your choice. Huh.

Is there anyone in the Smith math department that can give you useful advice? Maybe talk to a professor or two in the computer science department, too. Do you know any Smith/other math/cs graduates who have had the same quandary?
