Theatrical Muse #315 Jingle

Dec 28, 2009 20:50

It was that stupid jingle.

Evil is alive, evil is well.

Not an advertising jingle but a segment of a song used to advertise the tv programme, so it was almost as good. Or almost as bad. It resonated through his brain like an itch just under the skull. It pulled at the edges of his attention so nothing was ever quite what it should be, fraying at his mind.

Evil is alive, evil is well

Bloody damned song. It wasn't good, it was a bad omen of something to come. He just knew it. Of all the songs to have stuck in his head it was that one, and he didn't like the sound of it.

Who the hell came up with a song like that, anyway?

Evil is alive, evil is well

He was so tired of it, and getting tired because of it. The sense of foreboding was wearing on him. If something was going to break and this was a damned omen, then let it come and be damned. He was tired of waiting.

Maybe has a pitchfork, maybe has a tail
Evil is alive and well
