Well, save for one minor thing, the boat is done. Just in time, too, since I start a new job on Monday.
Of course I had to name it...
The driver seat is a little higher so I can see better. It's a little easier for my long legs, too. The hatch between the seats is the Aft Livewell. There are two hatches behind the seats that store the batteries, fuel tanks, and hydrolics for the engine. And, yes, that's a deer in the background.
I did all the carpeting myself. It was quite a job that took four days. You can see all the little storage and livewell doors. From left to right are Fast-Access, (fire extinguisher, first aid, air horn, life jackets) Forward Livewell, (where you put the fish you've caught) Storage, (lights, flags, extra rope) and Wet Storage, (anchor, chain and wet rope).
Grant steering wheel! All the gauges and electrical controls are new. The little gauge to the far right is a digital depth sounder that will sound an alarm if you get into shallow water. The fishfinders are both waiting on power cables that are on backorder. :P
The Lowrance X75 fishfinder, foot control for the trolling motor, and the livewell controls.
On the transome you can see the color is a few shades darker than the top. And a rear view of the 1978 Mercury M900 Thunderbolt engine. 90 horsepower for a 15 foot boat.
Comin' atcha! I borrowed the seat from my pontoon boat. It's comfy.
California law requires the registration number to be in a contrasting color. I figured gold metalflake would be contrast enough.
I plan on taking it out this Saturday for "Sea Trials" to make sure everything works.
