Stranger Danger!
My sister (Meg) watches the nightly news with her husband. There has been a recent influx of child abductions via the old stranger with candy gimmick. So, being the responsible older sister that she is, Meg came home and quizzed our seven-year-old brother Joseph.

Proof positive that kids say the darnedest things, no? I do hope he was told that you're supposed to run without the candy.
The freaky part is I just watched an episode of Adam-12 tonight where a guy had tried to abduct a girl luring her with candy.

I also found the second part of your post comparing the stranger with candy to temptation and sin. I never thought about it this way, but I appreciate the fresh perspective.
