My councilor for class scheduling contacted me late July to inform me that I hadn't taken a required literature class in order to graduate. I requested for one of my elective classes to be dropped so I can have the required class and still only be 15 credits for the semester ( Read more... )

What? That's terrible. When I went to school, we could drop classes right up until an Add/Drop class date, and we didn't need to pay any penalties. We could also add and drop classes on our own, but if your councillor is responsible for doing that, then they really should have, and you should be excused from the extra expense.

Luckily, I went in early this morning to see my councilor again. She assured me that they must have been mistaken with the penalty and that I'll get the entire refund. And if there is a problem, she'll help fix it.

So it's all good now. +)
