The Discovery on Netflix made me ugly cry. Well, I choked it off because the girls were in the playroom. This post is only meant for those that have seen the film. I have questions about the ending.
SPOILERS!!!!!*****
I admit that I was surprised that Will had died several times before we learn the truth. However, that truth has me asking some questions. Specifically, at the very end, when he's on the beach and saves the boy from drowning, is he saving himself? It's the same beach. I understand that the ending is supposed to force me to make my own decision. Of course, I don't think Will is short for Oliver, and Isla looks nothing like his mother, but is it really a coincidence that Will almost died by drowning at the same beach? I get that his "loop" reset after he saved Isla from drowning at the beach, and that he no longer needs to revisit that point of his past live because he fixed it. Did I miss the conversation where he tells Isla the truth about what he saw when he was drowning? I might be overthinking it. I probably am. What do you think?
