Outrage is mostly kinda sorta a yakuza ensemble piece about rivalry inside a large Japanese crime syndicate. Kateshi "Beat" Kitano - one of the movies' great stonefaces - mostly sorta stars in his own picture. It all starts with an unsanctioned deal between an underboss and another criminal boss. "Champ" Otomo - played by Kitano - is the underboss'

I can't really tell how you felt about this. Did you like it or was your reaction sort of meh?

I liked it. Kitano is an acquired taste, though perhaps his minimalism rubbed off on me. It's about a B+/A-

What I'd meant to write but forgot was that moral of the story - as much as Kitano indulges in things like "morals" - is that shit always rolls downhill.
