great blog- and helpful too! i was freaked out in india at first, then immediately enraged, then enamored...it's funny to see that it's not just me who 'appreciates' some of the intricacies and confusions. about your ? the meeting with guruji was like this...i was registered to 'serve' at the pagoda...a distinction that, in essence, serves food and manages issues so meditators can meditate in an undistrubred setting. lucky for me, this was enough for me to get meals and a room for the night- hassle free. i met a german/canadian who took advantage of the time before the next day's session by showing me the grounds and all the facilities. at 4pm, all present were given the opportunity to, up close and personal, pay respects to goenkaji. this consisted mostly of the meditators queueing up, then bowing down three times while goenkaji sat over us giving 'love, compassion and goodwill'.

in other words- it was kinda giddy and kinda anti-climactic.
