Well, what a thread...
Nobody's still given you advice on whether to choose between Microsoft or VMware !!
Choose VMware... (I don't like Microsoft :-) - For obvious reasons)

And whats this about Nat Geo?

VMWare is a security app...but hard core systems implementation....no details...signed an NDA :-(

Yeah the friend circle thing is playing on my mind too...but hey you are gonna be in Sunnyvale sometime soon :-)
