Since there has been so many different, conflicting opinions about the future of Alias, I thought I'd clear up what I know from my source (who is very high up on the foodchain):
Personally, I'm keeping up on plotlines by reading the TWOP recaps - that way Erin gets all the frustration of watching and I get the funny, lol.
Here's the question, though...how can he film more episodes if he's filming a movie in Australia? ;) I'm not believing anything until I (a) see 'razzi and/or promo pics of filming, or (b) hear about signed contracts, not just "verbal agreements".
Well, for one, he's filming the movie in Australia in the next couple of months -- i.e., when NO episodes of "Alias" are being filmed, not by MV, JG, VG or anyone else. Baby hiatus. The crocodile movie thing doesn't seem like it's going to be a super-long shoot, meaning he'd probably be available not long after the show starts up again.
I, like Em, have heard that MV's appearances are considered certain from a source who is (a) absolutely, 100% in a position to know and (b) has never given us a reason for distrust. I am convinced that the source is telling the truth.
The TWOP recaps are, and have been, pathetic. Not that virtually that entire site isn't pathetic; it's trawled by fandom's bottom-feeders and serves up reheated snark under the not-convincing guise of wit. The only reviewers worth reading are the ones for VM and SV, and I don't even bother with them anymore. B ut whatever floats your dinghy.
To each his or her own opinion, but frankly, I find those TWOP recaps degrading to Alias fans. They used to be funny when Regina did them, so maybe it's just Erin...? I don't know, but I haven't read them much at all this season.
And about MV, everyone chooses what they want to believe. I'll believe my source, because he's pretty dang high up and knows these things. Of course, this will all be water under the bridge when MV returns from Australia, signs his contracts (because by then the eps will surely be chosen), and starts filming again to where the rest of the fandom will see the promo or on-set pics and believe that what we're saying is true.
Meanwhile, I'm enjoying the show for the storyline. Because it still rocks.
It's good to see that Mia and David are back thats such a long wait eight weeks it gonna be a killer really but guess that its needs at the moment. Can't wait to see MV back he really does something for the show.
I've actully enjoyed this year its nice to see different charters and it not only being based on Sydney and Vaughn and also the addition of Amy Acker works so well she's brillant.
