In legal terms I've heard that a marriage is not all that dissimilar from forming a corporation, that is the formal creation of an entity of shared assets. That what its for as far as the states concerned anyway, so what does it matter if it two or more people involved?

I'd certainly draw the line at age and species but if you read enough sci-fi, even those could theoretically come into question some day. The only thing that will ever be consistent is things will change, and there will be someone to provide a difference of opinion.

But isn't it scary to think that gay marriage will lead to people marrying animals? ... just dumb!
