Tonight I worked. Yes, it ate up my Saturday night, but I made some significant money and I had a blast, so big deal. Besides, I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday night than floating in an open air basket 2500 feet above downtown Winnipeg.

It was my first shift during which I got to go up, and I couldn't have picked a better one to go

Winnipeg's mature urban forest and wonderful architecture (in places, almost all in the 'inner city') are two of Winnipeg's best features. Unfortunately, they are rarely celebrated by the citizenry as a whole, and I would venture a reasonably educated guess that those who truly DO celebrate and enjoy those features are indeed those who see the greater ills that have afflicted this city and are not afraid to speak their minds. They DO have an idea. The respect for the city is there, and it is a true citizen's duty to strive to better their living place.
