I only hear my dad say my Christian name when he is upset with me. Any other time it's Susannah, Anna-lou, Annie Oakley (what?) or any other embarrasing far off variation, many of which I'm a too embarrassed to transcribe into written English. hmm, yes, one would think he'd have grown out of that about 15 years ago or so, but at least it's sort of sweet instead of 100% stupid.

Yeah, it's about 2% sweet and the rest is annoying and potentially embarrassing depending on the locale. I actually dared him the other day to call me my real name for an entire day and he avoided my challenge.

my family has come up with some strange nicknames for me as well, so i share your pain:

karebare (ok that one is just cliche, but that was one of my first nicknames)

karrots (i think only my uncle tim calls me this now)

ferry or ferret (i absolutely HATE it!)

karl (cuz one time in elementary school they misprinted my name as karl in the paper when i was super citizen of the month)

Bombay Ray (this is my WTF?!? nickname. my dad is the only one to call me this, sometimes he just uses Ray. yeah i have no idea!)
