i think i have the flu.  i haven't had the flu since i was 8.  what do i do to make it go away????

go to the doc (if you can) and get drugs.
that's the best way i've found
it makes it go away much faster

ever heard "feed a cold, starve the flu"? eat only crackers and toast and drink nothing but water and sports drinks and possibly a little broth until it's gone.
