very good questions - i think i read a feature on this very same issue (short attention span of phil media) in up's college newspaper a few years back (collegian). i think it's not just phils but the whole world as well. the very nature of media demands that it sensationalize in order to sell. given how many crazy things happen on a daily basis, having very short term memory is just par for the course.
