I used to see a masseuse once out of every paycheck or two. At least once a month, that is, maybe twice depending on what life threw me. I budgetted that money out of my paychecks because it was SO worth the stress-relief it gave me. A half hour massage was like $30 or something and I slept/felt so much better for days afterward even amidst all the chaos going on in my life.
I haven't tried meditation. I don't know how well it would work right now though. One of the things that is stressing me out is that I know I have more and more to do. So, I can't really sit still. But, I haven't tried it, so I can poo poo it until then.
Hmm, it's been months since I played any video games. Maybe I should finish Kingdom Hearts II.
I really recommend finding a class you like, if it's possible. I've found that the instructor's guidance and corrections have been invaluable. Alot of yoga studios have reasonable drop-in fees and mine will give new students a couple free classes after their first one to help get them hooked.
Wii Fit yoga does the poses, but none of the meditative stuff that I love, and I've found it's impossible to get into any kind of flow since each pose requires separate button-pressings on the remote. Also, I didn't enjoy having to plant my feet on a small, hard, raised metal thing instead of a larger cushy mat. I fully admit I've been spoiled by my yoga classes. :)
I've only done yoga videos a couple of times a long time ago. I think one of them was a copy of AM/PM yoga I got through Netflix. There are yoga videos for every type of person, I've discovered. Yoga for Dog Lovers. Yoga for Recovering Alcoholics. (Those might be exaggerations, but there is actually a yoga video for knitters.)
yoga. meditation. if you have netflix they have some mediatation/yoga dvds you could try, and even ones to relieve stress. have a bubble bath with aroma therapy scents. punch the shit out of pillows. cry. exercise. write down what you feel or need to do. scream. back a massage.
