V for Vendetta

Every time i see a movie based on a comic book, i remember just how good comics can be. Especially when those movies kick ass (Sin City, Batman Begins), but also when they suck monkey balls (Batman & Robin, Fantastic 4). That said, I totally want to go and reread V for Vendetta now ( Read more... )

While you're going to go look for it pick up Watchmen also by Moore which is one of the Best graphic novels I've had the pleasure of reading.

God, 8 bucks for a student ticket now? I haven't been to a movie in probably 3-4 years, unless you count the dive movie theaters in DE that hadlike 3 dollar student tickets for movies at the end of their theater run. 99% of movies made today are trash, and quite frankly, they aren't worth 10 bucks or the pain of sitting in a theater with pre-pubescent high school kids (or worse).

So, yeah. Renting. Or better yet, waiting for rich friends to buy said movie, then watching it. Even better.

Yet more reasons why living in Houston is awesome: Student tix are still cheap, art house movie theaters exist, and the Alamo Drafthouse Movie Theater.

You realize you wrote more about the previews than the movie?

I saw the preview for X3 and died. Hottt.

the movie was certainly worth seeing. and side note: AMC Painter's Crossing (which I hadn't been to in years) is:

a. lacking in DMS students thankfully
b. considerably less crowded than Regal DTown
c. cheaper than Regal DTown

They are also showing "Firstlook" though which was awful, and American Dreamz did come after a long line of awfulness... But I too was very impressed by the string of good-looking previews and the lack of crappy previews (oh wait was the 2fast2furious:tokyo drift a preview or part of the Firstlook... I can't remember...). I didn't even know they had made a Mission Impossible III I was like, WHAT?! Though I did notice most of the previews were retellings or sequels, except for Silent Hill... but we'll see. Needless to say I think that this years movie releases will be much more satisfying than last years (save for Batman Begins)

whoa, I wrote way more than I planned to... sorry, my bad.
