Oh, are you a fan of Kim Ky Duk?

His newer movies are interesting, but his older movies feel more edgy... its hard to sometimes put into words how i feel about them, but i think 3 Iron was the most satisfying movie by him that i've seen in a while.

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring is another movie that was released a little bit before 3Iron that had a similar feeling to it. He has done a lot of movies, and a lot of them are sorta controversial. Of the movies that i've watched, they usually make me uncomfortable too.

The Isle, Spring summer... 3 Iron and Samaria are probably his most famous movies..

the silence of 3-Iron is beautiful. Kim KiDuk apparently isn't too popular in Korea, but I think that has to do with how a lot of his films don't go anywhere in a particular, concrete fashion.

In response to previous posts, Tony Takitani also has that same sort of understated quality that makes it more enjoyable than if it were... I don't know, more spelled out.

I can't really decide what I think of Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. I need to watch it again.

Yeah, in a sense i feel that 3 iron has a bit more closure than the other films i've seen by Kim ky Duk.

Tony Takitani was pretty interesting in its own light. It did break the fourth wall a lot with the constant narration and voice over, especially when the characters themselves would talk to the viewer, but yeah, the loneliness of the characters were also emphasized a lot. The one shot i really love is when they use the sky as a backdrop...

Lady Vengeance is... hard to say huh. Chan wook park keeps reinventing things... wasn't expecting a ending to a "triology" like that.

I saw you and me and everyone we know. i liked it. i think i would have loved it more earlier. i think it's really american to me. somehow immature even. maybe i am getting old.
i really want to watch 3-iron. dunno why these days just don't get the feeling of being inspired or anything. i've been rather good at various things (i finally got accepted by a journal, i'm doing rather well with red cross, made firends and hung out, i got on even better with my prof, i'm doing pretty well at the company) but i have some feeling of emptiness (dunno if it's because there's something in my boyfriend now that i really don't like). and then it starts to scare me. isn't it scary to know that there's eventually one thing that you wouldn't like in a person?
