Got back to Perth this afternoon at around 5pm. Overall very happy with how the walk went, a total of 102km in 5 days is pretty solid (around 22 hours of actual walking

No getting thinner! Just like me, you get the "fatten up" comments from everyone :)
Also, what are waking poles? Do you balance them above you and then they fall on top of you and wake you up? That could be cool...
I am actually quite into walking now after walking all over Europe, plus I have some great shoes... but I'm not such a fan of camping or sleeping in the wild... do you have to carry all your gear as well?
Eh, I'm not as thin as I used to be. I'm easily the heaviest person in my family these days.
Um, yeah, that should be walking poles... (but I would have figured it out anyway).
Yes you have to carry all your gear, my pack was around 11-12kg when I left (I didn't actually weigh the whole thing). Going in a group for 3 days you could probably get it down to around 7-8kg (or even less if someone else carried some stuff for you :P), just carrying food, water, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and clothes.
Hope you found a replacement stove in time (and that the loss of weight is not due to being deprived of hot food!)
Pemberton to Northcliffe is wise. We did Northcliffe to Pemberton, and it was only as we were GETTING OFF THE BUS that the woman next to me said 'aren't you doing it the wrong way? If you go Northcliffe to Pemberton you're basically walking uphill..'
No, I bought a new Trangia on Sunday (which did change my plans for transportation somewhat), but did eat hot meals each night.
Mainly going Pemberton to Northcliffe because I'm doing the whole thing North to South, although knowing that it is more downhill than uphill is a minor bonus (not that I like going down steep hills either, one of the reasons for the walking poles).

Anyway, congratulations on successful walk :D
