That bike's a beauty!chaiyaFebruary 15 2010, 18:37:18 UTC
I have a mid-level CatEye odometer ... I forget exactly which model. I like having one that tells me trip-average mph, overall mph, trip distance, and overall distance.
When you're up to speed, you'll be able to do 6 miles, in traffic, much faster than one hour. Totally.
Also, we'll be able to go out biking! And take a picnic! And be silly! Perhaps we could even join that bicycling gang with the disco ball setup that goes out late at night some weekends. ;)
(PS - I have your icon on a tshirt at home. It's awesome.)

I wish they still made that shirt with the reflective ink (I got one for Mart and one for my little brother, who, before he moved, used to bike to work also).
I am waiting for it to go on sale so I can get myself one, too.
And am now looking up all these odometers. Thanks!
No shit! Will Ren be there tomorrow? I will be collecting said sexy bike tomorrow afternoon, and it'd be nice to make IRL friends of another Internet Friend!
I wouldn't mind a nw one. My mountain bike is from 95. Paid $1200.00 on it. It's starting to show it's age, and not very comfortable to ride. Needs a new seat and chain. Maybe new tires. The handlebars have never been very stable, twits to easy while the front wheel doesn't turn. Like when trying to go down hill (or stairs).
I used to ride it 5 to 7 miles when I was in college, which took about 30 minutes if I took my time.
I live about 20 miles from work now, and don't want to ride it that far. Moving closer wouldn't happen until next January, but cost of living (rent) goes up even more the closer you get to A^2.
Years ago, 96 or 97, we got a heavy snow storm. I couldn't get my car out of the drive and had to go to work. Got the mountain bike out, and road the mile to work. I made it a point to clean the snow and salt off after I got there. It was hard, but so worth it.
Ride home was much easier.
I used to ride my bike to that job, or roller blade a lot. Now that I think about it I kind of miss it.
