Her Grammie sent her a little plastic doll house with a mommy, daddy, and baby doll family. It was an instant hit. The first thing she wanted to do was put all the dolls on the little potty. =) (Her potty training is going great BTW, still some bad days but we're in underwear all the way except at night and very few accidents! Soon we'll try again with James.. =)
Jason told me when I was at ballet she was making the dolls talk to each other. They said "Did you miss me?" and "I love you" to each other and gave kisses. (Aww!)
She also told me "He has nipples (pointing to the Daddy doll) and She has na-na's (breasts, pointing to the Mommy doll) and she has nipples (the baby) and I have nipples in my shirt! (pointing into top of shirt).
We gave her a Laurie Berkner cd, her own step-stool (she loves climbing things and jumping off) and some new Francis books. James gave her some kitchen toys.
Oh, and I caught her about to try peeing into her little potty while standing up. I explained that only Daddy and James can perform this trick (at least in the house. =)
Abby often tells me "I love you dancing." I assume this refers to her coming to watch me dance at the studio a couple of times last month.
Apparently kids love repeating things, so Minnie the Moocher was an instant hit. It is extremely amusing to hear James sing and Abby echo "Hidy hidy hidy hi/Ho de ho de ho de ho" in the middle of their play. They also love Let's Call the Whole Thing Off (I say potato, you say pahtahto). Her favorite song however, is Doodlebugs by Laurie Berkner.
We had a party for her with 7 families (10 kids and three babies plus ours!) on Saturday. Despite the majority of guests being boys between the ages of 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 it wasn't a mad house. The youngest boy, Deven, adores Abby. He told his mom she was his girlfriend, and his valentine. =)
Abby just came to the computer room door whimpering "may I come in? May I come in?" Now she says "lets go downstairs," so I guess I'd better go. She is the Birthday Girl.
