The Week Just Became Great...

I regularly read the blog and columns of John Canzano, a sports columnist for The Oregonian.

He had a blog entry earlier this week about the budget cuts in the Portland schools, and how they would wipe out sports like golf. His solution was a sales tax.

His basketball analysis is awful. He also I think is pretty much in love with himself and things he's the next woodward and bernstein even though he's just a sports analyst for the local paper in the nations 30th biggest market. He tends to be very matter of fact in his opinions too, which often leads him to be hypocritical. Last season he was touting Zach as the next great nba superstar comparing him to Duncan and Garnett. I mocked him for that, and then when he started trashing Zach as being lazy and selfish this year I got on him for that too. I also got laid into him a little bit for the whole Darius Miles secret papers thing. I really haven't read much of his coverage of local amateur sports, so maybe that is his strength, but his nba analysis is frighteningly bad usually.
