Barcelona #2

Here's the rest of the stuff from mine ad Kerry's trip to Barca.

WEDNESDAY

We got up late, AGAIN, &went to the zoo. We thought we were walking the wrong way from the metro so we asked some security guy of a bank or something where it was and it was like literally over the road and it had a huge sign =/ but it was kinda complicated to get to because the road was huge and had a flyover &stuff so he was like, really nice about it. When we got there I like really overheated and felt so ill. So I was kind of dragging myself around looking at all the animals. Then we got chips with mayo and I felt tonnes better. So we went to queue up for the dolphin show. Kerry was really excited because she'd never even seen a real life dolphin before. Then after that we went to the beach. The zoo was just so massive, we only saw half of it but it was like all of our favourite animals. They had a huge terrarium there but most of it was like, frogs... &I was disappointed there wasn't more lizards =[ BEACH!

Kerry really wanted to goo to the beach because that's what she does when she's on holiday or whatever, so I was like "=/ ummm, I guess..." then we got there and went in the sea &I remembered why I like the beach. I LOVVVE swimming in the sea. Then Kerry remembered she doesn't like swimming in the sea because she doesn't like going far enough out to not feel the rocks. So she got out and I stayed in the sea for like half an hour, got out and read for a bit, then got back in for like an hour while she just lay there... tanning. *URGH* I spent so much time trying to avoid the sun. I hate having a tan and she thinks that getting one is some kind of hobby? >_< It's times like these I wonder why we're friends.
LOLZ that sounds so harsh but it's like a running joke between us that neither of us knows why we're actually friends in the first place when we have so little in common.

We looked soooo drunk coming back from the beach but like... check it out, my eyeliner stayed on! I have no idea why Kerry grabbed my face like that, but yeah. She also didn't explain why she posed by holding her shoe up like that =/

THURSDAY

Thursday was like our busiest day because we'd missed out on quite a bit by just never getting up on time. Yet we still got up late. The first thing we did was catch the metro to the Sagrada Familia because it's like the ULTIMATE Barcelona sight and we couldn't not see it. I know that I've seen it before and everything (twice), but it's still amazing. It's a construstion site because it's not expected to be finished until 2025... construction began in 1882! Gaudi spent the last 15 years of his life workinbg ENTIRELY on this... he'd been working on it alongside other projects for 25 years previously. It's kind of mind-blowing. I have way more photos than this, with details and everything but I didn't want to just send you guys a million and one photos of a church.

Then we went to Casa Mila, which is my favourite of Gaudi's works. From the street, it's kind of the least flashy. They restored the owners apartment upstairs and it's like walking through another era because of all the furniture and everything. I WANT TO LIVE THERE. The roof terrace is the most amazing thing ever. I want to live there. Except you know, there'd be tourists all over my house all the time and I think I'd be really annoyed. Especially since I've learnt I hate American tourists. I hated some of the British ones, too, but most of the ones I heard were scousers and scouse tourists are hilarious <3 But urgh, I kind of get why people that don't talk to Americans ever hate them, 'cause all the people I overheard in Barca were fucking irritating. They were either complaining, trying to sound witty to each other, being oblivious to everything around them or vaguely insulting the locals without realising it. How did I get into this rant? I LOVE THIS HOUSE.

We are idiots =D

Then we went to the aquarium! At like half past nine at night, which was kinda weird but it was like reaaaaally fun. I couldn't take any photos of the fish because of the whole no-flash thing, and everything was coming out all blurry, so we just took photos in the little "explore the environment" kids bit. We bought these amazing fans from one of the street sellers on Rambla de Mar. Mine is the black one. Loads of the street sellers had them but these were the prettiest ones we saw.

Friday we came home =[ We had to get up early again... but we got to sit next to each other on the plane this time! =D We fail at flying though. I don't like taking off and Kerry doesn't like landing =/ and every time we had turbulence she looked at me like she thought the plane was about to fall out of the sky. Fortunately it didn't and we made it into Liverpool airport... it's like five minutes from my house but we didn't get in till like an hour later because my grandad just didn't park where my nanna told him to while she went into arrivals to get us. So we lost him &then we couldn't find him anywhere, then I found his car and he wasn't in it and I was like 0.o! But yeah, we got in and I watched True Blood, I'd been so annoyed that I missed it haha.
