My nephew Nathan communicated physically, but the thing that made the biggest impact for him was when he figured out what an owwie was. Now that he knows what it is like to be hurt, he is MUCH more sensitive to not hurting. Caleb is probably another 6 months from making that connection, but I thought I would share :)
