Mo Pilkington, Your New Best Friend (By Request)

Sep 25, 2007 20:06

So. Today I had a Facebook fiasco that was reminiscent of my seven-year stint as The New Girl, except I was cooler in those days and everyone under the sun and their mother (literally) did not get pitiful friend requests from "Mo Pilkington" as they did today. (Facebook basically said that "Mrs." and my real name were not acceptable for use.) It ( Read more... )

I'm just glad to see you on Facebook. And your list of things that made it better made me feel better! Yo Yo Ma playing Bach = the only music I can listen to while writing. Seriously I don't know how many times I've listened to the Cello Suites. And Clueless! (My favorite scene is the one with Elton and he goes all shady and starts singing the Cranberries song.) And Romare Bearden! And sharp cheddar! And the bridge! And the teaspoon brigade. When I was in high school my best friend and I swapped a journal where we just kept lists of things that made us happy. Thanks for reminding me of that. :) Let's hang out soon, kay?

Yes, let's definitely hang out.
Those Cello Suites are the best for writing.
My friend called me back to do the Elton singing scene twice. And the "Rollin' with the Homies" part too. :-)

That is such a sweet journal idea!

Turn away.... turn awaaay... cracks me up every time. In college when we were stressed sometimes my roommate and I would just fast forward and watch the party scene. :)

Romare Bearden.
There's a mosaic at the Detroit Institute of Arts called Quilting Time that I just love. (it is MUCH more vibrant in person. See the guy with the guitar? He inspired a character in a picture book of mine.

I'm glad that Crooked helped. Those must have been some cookies.

And help it did -- what a lovely, lovely book! That quilt is gorgeous -- thank you for the link. Looking forward to that PB.

Those cookies were just OK. And by "just OK" I mean not even worth $5 a pound.
