Yay Otakuthon! It sounds like it was a good time overall, and I'm glad to hear sales were good. >^_^<

...Couche-tards?

Also, yes, I wasn't so certain about Scott Pilgrim either, but I broke down and bought the first volume of the comic... and have now picked up the second, and am looking forward to the movie. >^_^< I... get the feeling I'm going to like it, too.

Reminded me of Otakon a bit, but Otakuthon's convention center has a better layout. It also lacks a basement for them to cram us into because a mid-city highway runs right under it.

Couche-Tard. I like their logo and their slushies are pretty good.

Their one advantage over Ontario Macs: booze. Hell, the Couche-Tard IN the fecking convention centre was selling booze out of a mini SAQs fridge.

ahahaha~! Honestly never thought anything odd of the name Couche-Tard 'til you mentioned it. At least there's no equivalent place in which you can take a shower late in the night... (oh french-english jokes reminding my of my youth~!) Bwahahaha~!

I wonder if the height reg is only in the french version of the rules and not the english ones. Reminds me of a menu in Paris. The english one read "Steak with Leeks" which illintent got, but fish was served. No where in English did in mention fish. When we left, I read the menu in French. Not only that it mention it was fish, it mentioned the type of fish. @_@

Naw, it's in there, and in red writing, but like I never read that shit. The restriction was 4 feet and a half.

Also, that rule seemed to only apply to the artist alley, which makes me wonder why. In the dealers room there was no height restriction. I believe Anime North has one, or at least says like that it can't be retardedly high. My Otakuthon display was no higher than my Anime North one.

I wonder if the height restriction is to prevent a feeling of competition.
Or maybe, when it comes to artists vs vendors, artists tend to DIY their displays. Putting a height restriction may prevent some of those DIY displays from toppling over.

Haha, I've already forgotten most of what I told you. XD Seriously, though, you'll learn what is best for you as you go along. You have a pretty good start. I've seen a lot of people show up and half ass things and of course they never come back. You're good enough that you'll do well. And then there are good cons and bad cons; sometimes you'll get a shitty spot or maybe people are really cheap that year. You'll never know ( ... )
