Look at things!

Was feeling a tiny bit better and I got some creative shit done.

I started my entry for the Anime North 2011 art contest. Of course I started in on the premise it will have the same criteria it has every year. I was thinking of doing something like this design for a while now, and then I found this Alphonse Mucha book in Indigo the other day and ( Read more... )

I love how Momiji looks so far. Good luck! Wish I knew more Canadian culture to suggest something for the book, though.

And yay, Zelda/Ganondorf!

Thank you! Last time I entered I got this on a mug (and they gave me a free mug as a thank you) and another year I got this on the staff badges. I still sell the Mountie print because people really like it, but only at AN. :3 I'm hoping if I just keep trying perhaps the statistics will favour me lol.

Sweet looking picture so far, and I think the time you put into research and design really paid off. The maple leaf crown is a nice touch. :D

If you don't mind a tiny critique about the wip, I think either the head's too big or the hands are too small. Something about the proportion is a bit odd, but I'm thinking probably because you're working with cartoon figure proportion (looks like 6-head to me) while I'm thinking more the usual 7-8 head tall figure.

Anyway, I hope you'll post the finished version and good luck kicking some butts with your submission. :D

Hahaha, I feel like I haven't researched enough! But thank you.

I don't mind the critique at all, and I agree with you and have been looking at it trying to figure out what is going on with that. I suspect the large hair and the slender torso are screwing the figure up, but I've been too sick to redline it in PS yet. Once I can do that I can go back to the sketch (and I just remembered the sketch has been sitting in my scanner for a week and got it out of there before I forgot it).

Oh yeah, have I told you how excited I am to see you drawing again AND resurrecting the Zelda Exchange?
