I understand entirely where you are coming from, being away from old friends and family is really hard. Just look on the bright side, you have a new state to experience, new people to meet and create new friendships with, and you are right, old friend will always be there when you need them no matter how long out of touch you may become. At least this is what I keep telling myself as I spend my year of penance in hell (otherwise known as MN).
so i believe i know who you are talking about....but i just wanna say...everything happens for a reason, and i'm sure this person will find out that they're just being dumb and come back to you. now, i freakin' miss you a helluva lot...and i wanna see you soon so we can dance and dance and dance and bow.

I know things are hard, and I can imagine how it must make you feel. My heart would be breaking too.
