I was checking out Grey's Anatomy Insider. In the comments section for a post about episode 4.03, someone had an interesting take on why Alex seems to dislike George so much, especially now since he slept with Izzie.

I think that's the easy conclusion to draw, but I don't think that scratches the surface at all, plus it involves things that Alex more than likely does not know and/or think about when it comes to George. And it ignores George's part in this mutually strong dislike. George going against his dad's brand of manhood hasn't necessarily been all good for him, while I think it's pretty obvious that Alex is nothing - and wants to be nothing - like his dad, who he definitely does not consider a real man. Plus, I really don't think Alex hates George. I think he hates that George gets everything he wants without having to be a real man or even a responsible adult ( ... )
