it's fics like this and games of liverpool that make me wish rafa would give carra a nice break from time to time. hell i want martin and daniel in the same game, side by side (they're sort of the same profiles as vidic and ferdinand so they'd work perfect) maybe in a year or 2

I want Danny and Martin to play together too. If they are to be our future partnership, they need to start developing a firm understanding between them. Carra being dropped, however, is unlikely at the moment (nor will he be pleased)...

I agree with you, I think we need the solid defender partnered with the cultured ball-player. The problem with this current situation is that Daniel may not be around in a year or two to create this perfection. =(

Wow, that was kinda really mean - which I didn't expect of you, usually being a Martin fan and all. ^^ But I liked the description of their routine and the trains of thought.

Somehow this time of the year is absolutely frustrating, LFC wise. :P

*sniffffff*. I know. I was feeling very sorry afterwards about how I made Martin out... I'm so sorry, Martin *begs forgiveness*.

But then, it worked for this fic, and you know, you gotta suffer for art XD. ahhaha.

Yeah, I think the frustration of hearing that Danny was injured again spurred the sudden 'Martin is mean' bit. After all, it is sort of true, that Martin is keeping Daniel out. Even if it's more to do with Rafa liking that pair instead of perhaps him being more skillful?

i know i should be concentrating on danny right now and i feel for him, ido ido ido. but you totally BLINDSIDED ME WITH SKRTEL. i feel like i've been hit by a truckload of arrogance and self-assurance and dominance but you counter that with his delicate fingers and his wicked mouth *leering* and it's all i can do to remember... .

Ah, I think I just infected you with the Škrtel-bug! I was the same! I was reading deathinacave's Dan/Martin fic, "I Won't" which pretty much did the same thing to me and I have been hooked ever since. (onto Martin Škrtel, that is). Before I was just like, Martin's just another defender, whatever. And now... XD

He is such an intriguing character and while I think his outward appearance is 'scary' (obvious), he still has some features that deny that (his delicate-ness, his lips, his skin, etc). He really isn't as tough/hard as people make him out to be (am ignoring what Xabi said about who the hardest LFC player is) but yeah. All his interviews, he's such a nice gentleman, really. *gushes*

p.s. I do love Danny still! Honest!

p.s. blatant pimping but see the fic list on the side over on the right....has list of fics and Martin is featured in a few of them. =)
Feel free to read those. I most definitely will continue to write him but now that uni has started for me, the fics will come more slowly.

But welcome aboard the Martin train =) He really is a wonderful person (at least, in my mind, he is XD)

*gulps* That was unexpectedly dark and wicked, and very very intriguing. Martin does seem like the type to "help" things a little if they're not going this way, doesn't he? And I think you captured Dan's character rather well, especially right now, when he's more likely to hang his head and admit defeat instead of fighting for his place. All this "play me or let me leave" sounds like defeat to me, honestly. *sigh* COME ON, DAN! *nudges him* It's not over yet! You can do it! As important as Carra is for us, he won't play forever, and I'd feel a lot more comfortable if Dan was still there then.

Oh, and I loved the part Nando plays in this. The way you describe their relationship is beautiful and makes me feel even worse about Dan thinking of leaving. I'm sorry for him too - it hurts to be so powerless, seeing your partner like this and not being able to do anything to help. *pets him*

I know, Martin on one hand totally looks the evil aggressive man that he *can* be, but I still cannot leave the nice Martin behind, so I was quite internally killing myself and apologising endlessly to the Martin in my head for making him mean ( ... )
