But it has the virtual console where you can buy those very same Gameboy games! True, no good if you already have the games, but it's been great for me since I never had many. I'm still waiting for Metroid 2 to be released though.
Isn't it possible to just change the battery pack in the DS?
Bah, more edits, but I checked Nintendo's store, and you can buy a replacement battery pack directly from Nintendo of America for $15. Seems a better idea that taking a chance on someone else's used DS. And if you can't foot the bill, I'll give you a late birthday present. ;)
I would never have though that Nintendo sold replacement parts for an out-dated system. The site was really easy to navigate and my Ds will have a new lease on life shortly. Thanks Diane! <3
You should see all they have to sell! I've always browsed just to see what they had, but as of yet I haven't needed a replacement for anything. But, it's nice knowing they're on hand should I need them. (And besides, it's Nintendo. Their customer service is amazing! This I can vouch for.)
I kind of balked on getting my DS XL because it had no backwards compatibility, but then I remembered I still have a GBA, a SP, and a DS so it's not like there's a lack of systems for me to play GBA games on. :P

I'm honestly in the same boat when it comes to not wanting to get a newer DS. Virtual console is pretty neat but I have a ton of the old games and I really don't want to re-buy them.
