I always hear lobotomy being used in joking terms but I never actually knew what one was before. And apparently the inventory of it was given a Nobel prize. I can't imagine what it was like to be a doctor/scientist back then and speak out against lobotomies only to see the inventor get a Nobel prize.

ugh, that is so disgusting. *shiver* I'm so glad I didn't live through the time where those treatments were handed out like candy. I wonder if there is anything we do these days that will be equally revolting to people in a hundred years.
