Today, the store finally opened. And we were bum rushed for hours. I made $12 in tips, too. After my noon to close shift, a beer was had -- in solitude, as is the custom -- in celebration. I have to wake up in a few hours and do it all over again.

After much thought, I realized that I wouldn't be able to accomplish what I wanted with my limited ability in Perl as a CGI. I concluded that I would have to pass variables into Perl programs and I have no idea how to do that yet. I've been reading Apache's documentation so I can figure out how to make my dynamic web design work in the test environment. I'm starting to understand what Apache can do and what I can do to make it do what I want it to do. For the most part, though, it's all just a bunch of geek speak that is a pain to read through. I'll get it eventually.
