yeah, I tend to do the "centre" thing, too. pshaw.
Isn't it normal to feel tired and/or craptacular after giving that much blood? I understand (to a minor extent) what you mean, though.
I was wondering about the nail polish. I saw a distinctly pink fingernail at dinner tonight...and wondered to myself, but decided not to ask. Yeah...I definitely used to bite my nails even when I had painted them. It was more gross than usual. Boy, am I glad I got over that...
I thought the same thing, dude! I was thiniking that maybe it was one of those government things that is made available so that you can go on-line and check to see if your creepy neighbor is actually a rapist. You know, one of those sites that Josh Davis spends inordinate amounts of time browsing. I think he wants to get raped. Anyway, grats on the blood donating, Omegaron. First time? It's a very cool thing to do. One of my teachers (a Xavierian brother) once told me that giving blood is the most Christic act a person can do. I used to do it as often as they would allow until they changed their rules and now I am on indefinite suspension (for living too long in a foreign land) until they find a means of detecting CJD in a blood sample. Apparently I might have mad cow disease. Go figger.
Lol, I agree w/ many said comments. I fear that once I go to New Zealand that it may cause a problem, but I'm thinking that for five weeks in that area of the world I, hopefully, will only have to wait a little while if any time. I've donated several times before. Two other times, I've had a similar experience which went unnoticed by others and I managed to stay awake. This is the first time that I was that bad off, though. I'll definately keep doing it. I genuinely enjoy giving except for that time right after when you get sick. Also, if you develop a case of mad cow, before you're too far along I want you to play a Malk NPC in my game... :-)
Good job giving blood - it is a really cool thing to do. I also want to say, though, that every time I log on to lj and go to the friends page, I see a picture of bags of blood which really freaks me out because I forget that's its coming every time until I see it again. Don't really know why it freaks me out but it does - there is a reason I determinedly avoided biology/dissection classes you know
yay omegaron. way to have a needle stuck in your arm. =) i doubt that going to new zealand for 5 weeks is going to prevent you from giving blood. they're really more worried about people that stay for extended amounts of time in european places.
as for fingernail polish... i know that you're not supposed to chew on your fake nails b/c the glue that they use has cyanide in it... bad idea... also the reason you're not supposed to wear nail polish in chem lab is because it can catch fire.. and that would be slightly unpleasant.
