It's a nice piece, which is why I placed it here. It's sad, but so very typical, that everyone feels need to pass judgement on his politics in some way in every mention of Heston. Certainly, he made politics a big part of his life, whether he was marching with Dr. King or defending our second amendment rights. It's just the ceaseless egotism of everyone's need to give their opinion about things they disagree with that grates on me. And we have fallen so far from the belief that "I disagree with what you say but will fight to defend your right to say it." Just like the "glad he's dead" comments I have seen about Heston, I think many (most?) Americans have shifted to the attitude "I disagree with what you say but I am afraid to kill you for it so I just hope someone else does."
